The Twins final season game was a memorable one on many fronts.

It was the first annual Earl Cook memorial game played. The Twins sported red laces and tape as they recognized Earl’s ties to the Red Wing hockey organization. The Twins players also all wore an Earl Cook name bar which was their way of making sure that Earl was involved in every scoring play as well as every trip to the penalty box and, if you had the opportunity to know Earl, both would have represented his love of the game. He loved slick plays, grinding in the corners and battling right up to the last blast of the horn, just as Earl did himself every day of his life.
